Cece & Minh – Same Day Edit Wedding Film – Trinity Chapel & Thompson Hotel, Toronto, ON

Ahhh CeCe & Minh… We love you guys. We have been looking forward to this wedding for months! Here’s the Same Day Edit..

CeCe and Minh got married at Trinity Chapel on the campus of U of T. I must admit I was nervous about their ceremony because of all of the stories i’ve heard about other photographers and videographers being kicked out of the church mid-ceremony! After a quick chat with Cliff (who runs the show), we had our instructions and followed them;)

Their reception at the new Thompson Hotel was amazing. I believe it is my new favourite reception venue. The place has style. It’s modern and clean and the staff are on the ball. The food here was incredible – quite possibly the best wedding food we’ve had this year! You should see the roof top infinity pool. It’s breath-taking. Thanks to Nick and his team for the incredible job they did.

It was amazing to work with Joee Wong and his team Chris and Therese! We’ve been looking forward to working with Joee for a long time – he’s an awesome guy and we hope to see you again real soon! Check out a few of the photos here: http://bit.ly/cece_minh

Music in this Same day edit is ‘Lost at Sea’ by the band Hope Atlantic. Buy the song here.

We thought we’d try something new by posting a few screen grabs for fun. Let us know what you think! We love your comments!

Thanks Cece & Minh for having us! We had an amazing day!!

Hey Michelle – I wish we could help – but I’m not sure where the dresses are from…

MichelleDecember 14, 2011 - 6:01 pm

I love her brides maid dresses. Is there anyone that can tell me where she got them.

Shane & Deanne – Same Day Edit – Windermere House Wedding – Muskoka

Shane & Deanne got married at the historic Windermere House on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka.  We loved spending the day with Shane and Deanne and their son Liam! Check out the Same Day Edit that we put together for Shane & Deanne!

It was a perfect day and we were happy to have Nat Caron of Nat Caron Photography along for the wedding.  It was also great to have Aaron Sickle of Tier Delight Cakes on hand to deliver and set up his mouthwatering cake. Emily used to work with Aaron and his cakes taste amazing!! Emily actually helped Aaron on an episode of Cake Walk on the Slice Network which aired last week.

Thanks for having us to film your wedding, Shane and Deanne! We had a great time!

Words cannot describe the meaning this film has towards us. We were blown away in the beginning when we saw your work in other wedding films but when it came time for our film to be done we were lost for words on how much meaning our film is and unique it was and how each film you both filmed are truly unique and have their own style. We still cannot believe all the details you captured in our film. We can’t wait to look back on our anniversary and many years down the road.

As for all you other engaged couples who might be watching our film this is what I have to say. If your wondering and questioning if you should bother to put in your budget to have honey and dear as a part of your wedding then you will highly live in regret if you don’t. What Andrew and Emily do is truly magical and unique and will leave your guest speaking for months.Other “videographers” don’t compare to Andrew and Emily as with their films you will watch once and them take the DVD out and place on your shelf to gather dust and to never be brought out again. Instead, you should put your money towards a film and not just a video that is truly artistic and you will find yourself watching it over again and again and in many years to come. In the end the saying goes that when you walk away from your wedding you only have your pictures BUT with honey and dear you can have more than pictures but a film that truly takes you back to your day as they capture each individual memory of that day.

Ashlee & Jack – A Same Day Edit Wedding Film Experiment – Uxbridge, ON

Ashlee and Jack got married on her family farm this past weekend. Family Farm is probably not the best way to describe it. Ashlee’s family breeds 50-60 horses per year and they race in major competitions across North America. Their wedding was a childhood dream for Ashlee. Her father pleaded with her to have her wedding anywhere else (according to her mom). Her father tried to scare her by the amount of work it would take to turn their massive horse stadium into a perfect wedding venue. All of the cleaning and the hassles and the smells. But Ashlee wanted to get married in a place that was home.

It was also a huge amount of pressure on us as Jack is a well-connected assistant director and has worked on dozens of major motion pictures. It’s one thing to to film a wedding – but to film a wedding of an individual who tells Robert Pattinson or Paul Giamatti where to be and when – well – let’s just say the pressure was on to impress:)

This was a first for us. Ashlee wanted to have her video played at the same time she and her new groom had their first dance. At first – I was opposed to the idea. For us as filmmakers – one of the biggest rewards we get is the opportunity to show our couple their Same Day Edit with them sitting front and centre. In this scenario – Ashlee and Jack would be dancing with each other and probably missing half of the film. I also thought guests would throw things at me for playing the edit while the dance was going on (that didn’t end up happening!)

After a bit of resistance on my end, we decided to go ahead with it. Their first song was Lover Lay Down by The Dave Matthews Band. It’s not a typical Honey & Dear song choice – but it works. The end result was very special and we loved it. The guests gathered round the dance floor and took everything in and it was perfect.

Ashlee looked stunning in her custom made wedding gown by Kim of Valencienne. We’re really excited to share a video we’ve been working on with Kim a little later this year.

It was an incredible effort down to the last minute to get this wedding ready. A big thank you to Stephanie Gareri from Do This Do That (and her assistant Elisa).

We enjoyed working with Zack and Rudo from Mango Studios for the first time.

Also – congratulations to the Brnjas family whose horse won first place in a Stakes race about an hour before the ceremony!

Beautiful – much love guys!

Kim & Derren – Same Day Edit Wedding Film

Kim & Derren got married at Millcroft Inn in Caledon, Ontario. Derren loves the ‘mushy stuff’. Kim hates it. So – we decided to put a bit of both in their Same Day Edit. Their ceremony was held in a beautiful riverside garden on the 100 acre property. An intimate dinner followed with 30 or so of Kim & Derren’s closest family and friends.

I personally loved being able to film the guys playing some ball hockey before the ceremony. It was a good way to blow off some steam and keep everyone loose.

It was a real treat for us to be able to spend the day with our pal Taylor Jackson who is an incredible photographer who we love working with.

The music in this piece is ‘Animal’ by the band Neon Trees – Buy the song here

After we packed up – we had a tasty piece of cake from Kim’s sister Lori who is the amazingly talented Caketress

Check out their Love Story Engagement Film too –

Thank you so much for having us Kim & Derren!

Love the Habs jersey and the game of shinny before the wedding!!

Beverly & Buki – Same Day Edit Wedding Film – Toronto, Ontario

Beverly & Buki Ayeni got married in Toronto at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church. After an amazing Nigerian ‘Yoruba’ Engagement Party Friday Night which signified the welcoming of Buki by Beverly’s parents into their family as well as the celebration of their marriage, they had a traditional ceremony on Saturday followed by their reception at the Westin Prince.

We loved the amazing mixture of culture in this wedding. I’ve never seen so much purple. It was so cool to see how the cultures of Nigeria and Jamaica came together mixed in with a bit of British tradition.  Their ceremony had readings in english and in ‘èdè Yorùbá’ which is one of the 521 languages spoken in Nigeria (it’s the widest used language in West Africa (thank you Wikipedia)).

Take a look at the Same Day Edit we made for them.

It was so fun to work with out new friend Tara McMullen who took some photos.

We also loved the music from this Same Day Edit. It’s by Luke Huch. The Song is titled Hearts Unfailing and it was our first time using the website TheMusicBed.com which allows us to license independent music for our wedding films.  Pretty cool!

Luke HuchOctober 1, 2011 - 4:08 pm

thanks for choosing Hearts Unfailing for your video. I just watched your video and man…. I was blown away! It was so beautiful. I jumped out of bed and showed my wife and she LOVED it too! Its probably the best wedding video I’ve ever seen. The shots were so cinematic and what a gorgeous couple. I loved all the culture. I’ve known many many africans over the years and there traditions are stunning visually. I’ve been a lot of places but haven’t yet come to Canada, but i’d love to. Im hoping my music will take me there this year. Thanks again for sharing and for contacting me. I really enjoyed your work. Of course because my music was on it, but even more so because someone I’ve never met was able to exemplify so clearly the heart and message of the song in the tail of love and marriage. What a beautiful Wedding documented so tastefully, stylishly and brilliantly. Just brilliant! And what a lovely website you have. I’ll be blogging this one. Cheers my friend.

A lovely blend of all three cultures. The “aso-ebi” fabrics were simply exquisite.
