Beverly & Buki – Same Day Edit Wedding Film – Toronto, Ontario

Beverly & Buki Ayeni got married in Toronto at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church. After an amazing Nigerian ‘Yoruba’ Engagement Party Friday Night which signified the welcoming of Buki by Beverly’s parents into their family as well as the celebration of their marriage, they had a traditional ceremony on Saturday followed by their reception at the Westin Prince.

We loved the amazing mixture of culture in this wedding. I’ve never seen so much purple. It was so cool to see how the cultures of Nigeria and Jamaica came together mixed in with a bit of British tradition.  Their ceremony had readings in english and in ‘èdè Yorùbá’ which is one of the 521 languages spoken in Nigeria (it’s the widest used language in West Africa (thank you Wikipedia)).

Take a look at the Same Day Edit we made for them.

It was so fun to work with out new friend Tara McMullen who took some photos.

We also loved the music from this Same Day Edit. It’s by Luke Huch. The Song is titled Hearts Unfailing and it was our first time using the website which allows us to license independent music for our wedding films.  Pretty cool!

Labo - A lovely blend of all three cultures. The “aso-ebi” fabrics were simply exquisite.

Luke Huch - thanks for choosing Hearts Unfailing for your video. I just watched your video and man…. I was blown away! It was so beautiful. I jumped out of bed and showed my wife and she LOVED it too! Its probably the best wedding video I’ve ever seen. The shots were so cinematic and what a gorgeous couple. I loved all the culture. I’ve known many many africans over the years and there traditions are stunning visually. I’ve been a lot of places but haven’t yet come to Canada, but i’d love to. Im hoping my music will take me there this year. Thanks again for sharing and for contacting me. I really enjoyed your work. Of course because my music was on it, but even more so because someone I’ve never met was able to exemplify so clearly the heart and message of the song in the tail of love and marriage. What a beautiful Wedding documented so tastefully, stylishly and brilliantly. Just brilliant! And what a lovely website you have. I’ll be blogging this one. Cheers my friend.
